48 07.53 N

123 09.05 W

Elevation = 64 MSL

RWYS: 07 / 25 -- 1600 X 24 ft. plus a rough 400 ft. grass overrun on west end. RWY 07 right traffic. Pattern altitude: 1050 MSL.

CTAF 122.9

VARIATION: 18 E

WINDSOCKS: One on north side, west of midfield, and the other on south side at east end.

CAUTION: The runway is also a common driveway with potentially conflicting vehicular and pedestrian traffic both on and near the runway. Extreme caution is advised .

REQUIRED LOCAL PROCEDURES:

All operations: At all times, keep a sharp lookout for possible vehicular or pedestrian traffic, tractors, mowers, etc., whether on or near the runway, entering from the east end or from any of the driveways. If any conflict is seen or suspected, go around and/or divert to an alternate (see below). Be alert for westbound traffic north of the airport on approach to Blue Ribbon Airport (PVT) located approximately 2 miles W. Firearms may be in use at a duck hunting and shooting range approx. 1/4 mile north of Rake's Glen. Avoid the area. On takeoffs, and base and final legs of landings, turn on all landing lights, strobes, wig-wags, etc., if so equipped, to maximize aircraft's visibility to those on the ground.

Landings: Make all normal radio calls on CTAF. Fly a complete rectangular pattern, starting with an upwind flyover at or above 500' with full power, to audibly alert residents of a likely, imminent landing. On cross wind AND midfield on down wind, click mike 5 times on CTAF to activate the red warning light at the east entrance to the runway/roadway. If landing is delayed, repeat clicks to keep light ON. The light is not visible from the air at this time, and may or may not be in operation. Do not assume the light is working or that it will be sufficient to alert and/or clear the runway of conflicting traffic. CAUTION: When on approach to RWY 25 be alert for a sink effect as you approach the trees on the east side of the Dungeness River, and lift effect on the west side of the river, as well as power lines along the road just west of the trees. These effects are common and may be particularly pronounced when there is a brisk wind from the west. When landing east on RWY 07, be aware that go arounds must clear power lines and high trees off the east end of the runway near the river and may be hazardous. Landing on RWY 07 with a tailwind component is not advised.

Takeoffs: Make all normal radio calls on CTAF. Before entering runway, click mike 5 times to activate the red warning light at east end of runway. Be alert to potential runway conflicts at all times. Do NOT assume the light, if operating, will clear the runway of conflicting traffic. If operation of the light cannot be confirmed, exercising extreme caution, taxi at least to center of runway and back before takeoff to alert those on the ground. After climb to safe altitude, preferrably when near midfield, cick mike 7 times to deactivate red warning light. When departing east on RWY 07, be aware that takeoffs must clear power lines and high trees off the east end of the runway near the river and may be hazardous. Takeoff on RWY 07 with a tailwind component is not advised.
